With the popularity of label printers and the need for quality labels, the number of manufacturers of thermal transfer ribbons and printers has grown as well as the number of printer models. They range from small desktop units to heavy industrial label printers.
Specific core requirements?
It doesn’t matter which thermal printer you are using, the print media work somewhat the same. They all need a pressure tape wound on a core. The printer manufacturer make their printers even more unique, some manufacturers have designed their printers with unique core sizes that match. Some require extra recording grains, while others have special notches to properly lock the cores in their printers.
Ribbons wrapped on cardboard and plastic cores
Ribbons are usually wrapped on cardboard cores, but plastic sleeves are also available that are especially useful in cleanroom environments. The ribbons in the different types produced for these printers as resin, wax and wax / resin achieve superior lengths. These are important lengths that are used at high speeds.
A cardboard core could not tolerate this tension and it would inevitably deform during production. The core is an important element that cannot be ignored. You want ribbon core to retain its shape throughout the entire production process. Even with the tensions that production entails!
TTR Euroworks guarantees the quality of every thermal transfer ribbon and therefore we offer the right ribbon core for every printer. TTR offer multiple types of cores for different type of label printers. Also for Paxar, Monarch, QLS printers. This includes 40mm, 55mm, 80mm, 89mm, and 110mm widths.
Our ribbon cores eliminate the need to center the ribbon on a fixed-width core and allow us to slit the most common sizes in the market. TTR’s different cores are available for your entire printer lineup of thermal transfer ribbon formulations.
